“It’s a holiday for your furry friend too!”

Our cabins are dog-friendly, and we love to welcome all guests, including your furry friends. It's a holiday for your dog as well as for you, with many walks right on your doorstep, sandy beaches to explore, private drives for a leisurely stroll, and easy access to the South Devon Coastal Path.

South Devon is very dog-friendly, with many dog-friendly walks whether you are looking to be by the beach, by the moors, in woodland or open fields. There are also many dining options which welcome dogs too, some include;

Dog Friendly Eateries

The Mildmay Colours Inn (Holbeton)

School House (Mothecombe)

Rose & Crown (Yealmpton)

The Ship Inn (Noss Mayo)

Journey’s End (Ringmore)

Doggie Welcome Hamper

We all love to spoil our dogs, and their stay in our cabins will be no exception! Each dog will receive a special goodie box filled with a tennis ball, tasty treats, a towel, and biodegradable poo bags—because convenience matters too!

If you want to spoil your dog even more or maybe it’s their birthday, you can purchase a bakery hamper including pupcakes!

Please feel free to share any holiday snaps with us too!

Walkies

Visit our FOUR sandy beaches, all within walking distance from the cabins. At low tide, you can walk from Pamflete Private Beach to Mothecombe Beach. Dogs can roam off-lead and splash in the water

Cross the Estuary at low tide to Wonwell beach and follow the slip way towards some woodlands, and explore Kingston loop. More information to follow.

Here are some of our suggestions below…..

Mothecombe to Noss Mayo

Coastal Walk : Duration 3 - 6 Hours

You can join the South West Coast Path directly from Mothecombe Beach, just behind the Beach House. While it’s not a circular route, you can simply walk as far as you like and turn back at your own pace.

For a longer adventure, follow the path all the way to Newton Ferrers and Noss Mayo, where you’ll find two lovely spots to eat The Ship Inn and The Swan Inn. A great option is to leave your car at one end and enjoy a one-way coastal walk back.

  • 5.75 miles  (9.21 km)

  • return 11.5 miles (18.42 km)

Wonwell to Kingston Village

This Is A Circular Walk

One of our favourite walks near Holbeton, this scenic trail follows the River Erme and takes you along some of South Devon’s most striking clifftops before leading down to the secluded Westcombe Beach.

You can also start from Wonwell beach and walk up the woods first (get the large hill out the way at the beginning of the walk)

Ugborough Beacon

Scenic Views

There are many walks to explore on Dartmoor, but one of our favourites is the Puffing Billy track at Bittaford, near Ivybridge. Follow the track as far as you like and admire the scenic views.

This route is very popular for dog walkers, runners and cyclists too.

Estate Private Drives

Guests Only

Many of our properties connect directly with the footpaths, making it easy to set off on foot. Follow the track through peaceful woodland with the Erme Estuary alongside you—perfect for a tranquil, scenic stroll.

You can begin this route from either Pamflete Drive or near Flete House, simply following the track as it winds along the estate. For those looking to go further, the walk can easily be extended to reach the charming village of Ermington.

If you’re after a circular route, you can loop back up toward Holbeton Village, then walk along the road until you return to Pamflete Drive. From there, follow the drive down to the private beach (please note: a permit is required to walk on the private drives if you’re not staying with us). At low tide, it’s possible to walk along the sand to Coastguards Beach, where you’ll find access to the Mothecombe car park.
